It seems like Aussies have taken a fancy to sexting and everything else digital and sexual.
The Great Australian Census, conducted by Red Hot Pie (an Australian dating service), has revealed that smart phones hold great sway in our sex lives. Over 17,000 Australians were surveyed about their bedroom hijinks including if they watch or made their own pornography.
About 31.4% of men and 27.9% of women admitted to have appeared in their own sex tape and 47.1% of Australians have sexted with more than half (52.2%) of women being more likely to send nude photos. If they have not starred in their own sex tape, 24.2% of men and 39.1% of women are interested in the thought.
According to the census, the occupation that was most likely to land you in a sex tape was in construction while workers in transport were more inclined to sending nude photos of themselves using their mobiles.
Defense employees and emergency staff are more likely to owning a nude picture of their current partners in their phone and more likely to have a naughty picture of their ex partners in their phones.
Around 70% of Aussies enjoy watching pornography with 75.4% of West Australians delight in adult videos. People living in ACT are not as likely to revel in pornography at only 62.7%.
Which state ended up being the naughtiest? The people in the Northern Territory are the naughtiest having the highest numbers nationwide. The Northern Territory’s population is 42.2% more likely to enjoy pornography and 59.1% have sent nude pictures of themselves or others with their mobile phones.
ACT residents don’t enjoy filming their dirty deeds as much with only 26% of them are involved with sex tapes and 41.2% take or possess nude pictures.
One thing to keep in mind is that Red Hot Pie’s census is an online census so people, even though they’re answered anonymously, are still afraid to admit online or to themselves about their sexual activity. Another issue is that the sample size is only about 17,000 so compared to Australia’s population of 22.7 million, the census still has a long way to go before it speaks for all Australians.
